Thanks to Website Rocket, you probably feel like you know your way pretty well now around your social media profiles. After a day or two of exposure to the software, you probably feel like a Website Rocket expert, too! But what about the guy behind it all? How much do you know about how it all began from the human perspective?
Adam White, founder of Website Rocket, has a pretty busy life of his own (what with juggling work in several industries, on top of raising six kids), but he took a little bit of time out of his day to answer a few questions about himself. If you’d like to get to know Adam a little better, read on!
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona
What was your biggest dream as a kid?
Up until I was 11 I wanted to be a wide receiver in the NFL. Then I started playing basketball and that became my ultimate dream, to play in the NBA.
What did you do for your very first job?
When I was 12 or 13 I sold newspaper subscriptions door to door.
How did Website Rocket get started?
I used to run an SEO company that was very successful but two things caused me to sell that business and build the software for Website Rocket. One was I wanted to create a way for any small business to be able to compete online with bigger companies that can afford thousands of dollars a month to hire an internet marketing firm. Secondly, I saw how Google had changed their algorithm and how social media had become such a big part of website promotion so I wanted to help people do both SEO and social media to have the biggest effect.
What motivates you to help other small, local businesses?
I always root for the underdog. I love the idea that if someone decides to start a business they can have the same opportunity to make that business successful as someone who has things handed to them. So many people think website promotion is some unhackable code but in reality if you understand the basic principles and do things at the right intervals anyone can be successful.
Rumor has it you’ve worked in the movie industry…?
One of my life long dreams was to be a filmmaker. I love to be entertained and I love to entertain people. After I sold my SEO company I decided to pursue that lifelong dream and directed a feature film that I had written 10 years earlier called Inspired Guns. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
What’s your ideal Saturday night activity?
I’m a pretty simple person. I’m married with 6 kids so what I do is not super exciting. My wife and I will go out to eat and then maybe come home and watch a movie.
Do you have any weird nicknames?
In high school they called me Adam Bomb on the basketball team because I shot a lot of three pointers.
What has been the most important moment of your life so far?
Definitely marrying my beautiful wife Greta and then the birth of each of our 6 children. Also the 2 years I spent in Argentina on a church mission. These things have shaped me and my life.
What’s the top item on your bucket list?
Probably to go to New Zealand to visit the Hobbit movie set. I’d also like to make my own rocking chair.

Wow…..six kids. I only have 3 girls, and they’re a handful. :/ Adam, you sound almost exactly like my husband…he played basketball in high school, and went to film school in TN. Got his 1st feature placed in semi-finals at the Austin Film Festival, though nothing came of it…..though I told him if his leather business takes off, we can make his own movie. And we’d love to go to New Zealand also to see the location for The Hobbit. 🙂
Ann, I have a ton of respect for anyone that gets a feature film made much less one that places in a film festival. It is an expensive hobby though.
